Why blogging is good for your company (even in the tile and stone industry)

It may seem irrelevant especially if you are targetting small fixers, but blogging is actually a good idea to promote your company and increase sales.  Even fixers do actually possess computers these days, and more of them than you think even use them to look at work related stuff and consumers definitely use the web to find out information and research products before buying.

Blogging will

  1. make your site more visible in the search engines, as you are creating more, newer and (hopefully) more relevant content which is what the robots care about, well look for anyway, I'm not sure that they have feelings.
  2. increase your company's authority in the eyes of your customers, by showing that you know and care about your products and related issues and questions.
  3. lead to increased sales as more people find your site, trust your company and hence buy your products.
  4. help others in your company to become more knowledgeable by reading about information that they may not have known about before.
  5. make you really stand out from the crowd as there is hardly anyone doing it at the moment, especially in the UK.

On the downside, blogging does involve a commitment to writing interesting and informative material on a regular basis so it means that you have to set aside time to do it, but all told it is a relatively low cost way of attracting customers to your company website.
